Creative Momentum: Carrying Inspiration Into the New Year

January always feels like a quieter month — a pause after the rush, a chance to reset, and an opportunity to listen a little more closely to what inspires us.

For me, inspiration rarely arrives fully formed. It often begins with small things: a color combination I can’t stop thinking about, a texture that catches the light just right, or a collection of embellishments spread across my studio table. These details don’t demand attention — they invite it.

This is where creative momentum really lives. Not in rushing toward the next finished piece, but in allowing ideas to unfold naturally. Sometimes that means setting aside a design I thought I was finished with. Other times it means following a new idea that wasn’t part of the plan at all.

Over the years, I’ve learned that honoring this process — giving myself permission to explore, adjust, and evolve — leads to work that feels more meaningful and more authentic. It’s also how new collections begin, often quietly, long before they ever appear on the website.

As the year unfolds, I’m carrying this sense of curiosity forward. Letting inspiration guide the work, trusting the process, and allowing space for ideas to grow into something unexpected.

That gentle momentum is what keeps the creative journey exciting — and it’s what keeps me returning to the studio day after day.
