The Studio Dogs of Dana’s Uncommon Glass

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like behind the scenes at Dana’s Uncommon Glass, here’s a little secret: I don’t work alone. I have a team of loyal companions by my side every day — my three studio dogs! 🐶and the one not allowed in the studio – that waits patiently by the door all day…

While I’m busy painting totes, packing orders, or brainstorming my next design, these furry friends are always nearby, offering company, comfort, and occasionally, a little chaos. Get to know the real bosses of the studio!

🐾 Meet the Team

1. The Watchdog – Zoey

From their cozy bed under my table, this pup keeps a close eye on every move I make — and every snack I eat and for sure anything I drop – she’s on it! Always alert, always adorable, and ready to remind me when it's time for a break (or a belly rub).

2. The Supervisor – Mia

Likes to inspect the workspace… from the fluffiest pillow in the room. This little one prefers to lead from the sidelines, supervising the action while keeping the vibe calm and cool – unless there’s an intruder – then watch out.  She’s the smallest and the meanest!

3. The Snoozer – Benny

Curled up in a donut bed most of the day, this chill assistant takes the phrase “work-life balance” seriously. Occasional stretches and snuggles between naps help keep studio morale high.  He never leaves my side but he’s out of his bed in a flash if I’m on the move and asleep the rest of the time.  Occasionally dropping his ball on my foot hoping for a good chase.

4. The Can’t Be Trusted In the Studio – Milo

Love the guy to death – but cannot trust him for a second in my studio – HE EATS EVERYTHING!  Things you can’t even see!

Want to know a secret? They don’t help much with painting — but they’re very good at keeping me smiling.

🎨 Why I Love Having My Dogs in the Studio

Running a one-woman business is rewarding, but also intense — especially when every tote is hand-painted and packed with love. My dogs remind me to pause, stay present, and enjoy the process. They’ve been with me through creative highs and business stress, and I wouldn’t trade their company for the world.

🐶 Do You Have a Furry Coworker?

I’d love to see them! Tag me on Instagram @danas_uncommon_glass and show off your own studio assistants. Let’s celebrate the joy pets bring into our creative lives.

Thanks for reading and supporting handmade art (and my studio pups). Stay tuned — new totes are coming next week, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
